Jamaican Immigrant Accepted By Sixteen Universities

Records Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. April 30, 2021: A Jamaican immigrant teen in California has been licensed by a total of 16 universities, six of that are Ivy League colleges.

KABC TV studies that 18-300 and sixty five days-mature Barstow High College senior Jamaal Willis has been licensed into Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Duke, Columbia, College of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Georgetown, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Cornell, UVA, UC San Diego, Chapman College, College of Oregon and Penn Tell.

The 18-300 and sixty five days-mature, who excelled in AP functions, mock trial and athletics, has, on the opposite hand, chosen to abet his high preference for the autumn – Harvard College.

He recorded the second he realized he used to be licensed to Harvard, which confirmed his acceptance with the message: “Welcome to Harvard!”

Willis told Eyewitness Records he used to be simplest rejected by NYU and Northwestern.

His mom, Tanya Far away Goulbourne, said she used to be overwhelmed and contented with the information of her son’s many acceptances.

Willis represented California within the 59th annual United States Senate Adolescence Program in March. He immigrated to the U.S. in 2017. He used to be also  captain of the college’s mock trial, and speech and debate groups;  captain of the note and field crew, and the founder and captain of the boys’ volleyball crew.

Willis has volunteered many neighborhood provider hours with Assemblyman Mike Gipson’s 64th District office, which involves mostly the cities of Compton and Carson in Los Angeles County.

He used to be named a Yale Young Global Pupil and the QuestBridge Nationwide College Match Finalist from the High Desert and has participated with the American Civil Liberties Union, NAACP and the Stable Adolescence Coalition working on racial fairness, civil rights and homeless considerations.
